World First Missing Persons Guide

ABC Radio 612, 18 November 2013

Imagine waiting for a family member to come home and they don’t turn up…when do you start to worry? When do you call the police? After you’ve called everyone you know…where do you start looking? When are they officially declared missing?

These are only some of the questions that must run through the minds of the families of the 35,000 Australians who go missing every single year…

Loren O’Keeffe and her family had to ask these questions 2 years ago when her brother Dan didn’t show up to a commitment and then didn’t come home. Dan is still missing.

This week sees the launch of the world’s first Missing Persons Guide and this is as a direct result of Loren setting up the Missing Persons Advocacy Network which offers practical support to those affected by the disappearance of a loved one.

Listen to Loren O’Keeffe’s chat with ABC’s Tim Cox below.
